DFE ( design for environment) for ITT W&WW means that we consdider the whole life cycle of our products during the design process. We work according to a tollgate model where certain tests and documents have to be presented and verified before the tollgate can be passed. In these tollgates there are included activities to verify the environmental performance of the new product; Life Cycle Assessments ( LCA).
We focus on developing high quality products that are robust and have high efficiency. The aim is to offer the customers solutions that results in low costs during the life cycle of the product ( Life Cycle Cost, LCC), high efficiency, low maintenance needs.This striving also results in products that are environmentally friendly since the connection between LCa and LCC for pumps is very strong.
We encourage our suppliers to continuously develop and use new techniques that will result in lower environmental impact.
